About Me

Greetings!
My name is Jeanette Wood. I am the wife to my best friend, Joe and the mother to ten blessings. We have been home educating our children since birth- our oldest is 20 and our baby is 5. We have given birth to six children physically and four were born from our hearts through adoption. We are currently living in Topeka Kansas- moving from our home state of CA on the first of July 2008. Moving is nothing new to the Wood family. We have moved 17 times in the last 17 years. We never know where this journey will take us yet we are confident that He has only good plans for us and we will follow wherever He leads! We love to live simply and are filled with Thanks everyday for the good work He has begun in our lives. Grab yourself a cup of tea and enjoy a visit with me while I allow you to peek into our hearts and home!

A move in progress..

Hello Friends!
We have already began our move! Yippee!!!

We all hope that this is our last move for a very long time yet ,our hearts our fixed that we will go where ever He calls us! This move has once again been both exciting and yet peaceful!  Mom and Dad are just as eager as we are to have this move finalized! Mom and I chat daily about the garden plans, animals, and farm projects already in the works!

The family we have purchased from is allowing us to move items into the barn now. They are still working on moving out of the house since they have so much to accomplish with the home they are building. This family is amazing! I thank the Lord for allowing our paths to cross and look forward to the friendship that He is developing. Being allowed to move items over to the barn now has been extreamly helpful. Joe has had the last few days off from work and has accomplished much! Most of the rental home is empty. We have already moved and stacked everything nicely in the barn. Lord willing, we will have all the remaining items moved over to our new home next weekend. The girls and I will take the next week to clean this home and make it ready for the new renters. I have already been praying for the new tenants and neighbors. It is my hope that we have been a blessing to everyone we have come in contact with and we will leave behind us a testimony of His grace! The boys enjoyed an afternoon with the neighbor boys last week playing boy games while I enjoyed the most precious tea time party prepared by our neigbors little girl. Our girls were busy with daddy and didn't realize that their friend had prepared such treats- I was quite impressed by Miss Keillors smiles, conversation and sweet hospitality! I always love my friendship chats with her mommy and treasure them since they are priceless moments inbetween ministering to our families! These days are precious dear friends!

Well, this note will have to be short. My Joe just walked in and invited me to sit with him. Have a wonderul week as you minister to your families!!

Some Favorite Photos That My Bekah Girl Has Taken!

Funny Things My Children Have Said:

As Matthew approached his fifth birthday he seemed disappointed. When I questioned him he said, "Momma? Can't I please just skip five and be six?!" I replied, "No... you have to be five first. Why don't you want to be five?" After a pause and with a discouraged countenance Matthew said, "Because five is odd and I don't want to be odd Mommy!"

After all the children had their dentist visit Samuel began explaining how he had such good results. He said, "If you want to be like me all you have to do is only brush your teeth sometimes... the rest of the time... EAT THE TOOTHPASTE"

Bekah walked in while Matthew and I were working on his addition flashcards. She asked, "Matthew what are you doing?" "Doing my Plusing," He replied. I said, "You mean doing your addition" With confidence he turns to me and says, "Yes, that's it's middle name."

Bethany was helping Josiah look for beef cattle online when she came to me and said, "Momma, they had these really sad looking cattle that were super skinny called 'Commercial Cattle'. Momma that's all they would be good for - there wasn't enough meat on them for anything else." When I asked her more about what she meant it was clear she thought that these cows were used IN commercials for the T.V. All of us started laughing and kept giggling about it throughout the night everytime we thought about it again. My Beth is just too sweet!

Timothy and Elisha were talking about all the contents of the Ark of the Covenant. When Elisha told Timothy that God had put the 10 commandments in it. Timothy replied with confidence, "Well he had too so that Moses wouldn't break them again!"

After several trips to the emergency room with my Timothy. I said, "Timothy, you really must stop hurting yourself like this. Each time we go through that hospital door it is costing Daddy 100.00!" He sweetly replied, "Is there another way we can get in Mommy?"

As Ezekiel and I poured over the garden magazines we ran across the brussel spouts. Ezekiel had never seen them before and with excitment said, "Momma, Look! They sell bite size lettuce!"

As we prepaired to vacume seal our newly butchered chickens. My Beth-Joy said, "Mom I know we want to seal our chickens but I can't figure out how we are going to get that chicken through that skinny slot!"

Jed was about five years old when he ran out to the kitchen and met me with excitement saying, "Mom I think God made my wife last night! I counted my ribs and now I am missing one!"

Matthew and Samuel were playing when the girls and I overheard them and couldn't help but giggle. Matthew wanted to play house and have a baby but Samuel informed him that, "You can't have a baby, Matthew- you're only a 2T"

While driving I often lose cell phone reception with my Joe. I never realized how much the little ones were listening until one day I overheard them say, "Mom and Dad broke up again!" "No Mommy broke up with Daddy" replied Matthew. "No! It was daddy. He broke up with Mommy again!" Replied Sammy. As I listend I thought it was a good thing no one was ease dropping into their coversation- they would think my Joe and I had a pretty rocky marriage! LOL

While on one of our "girls days" Bethany was having a hard time falling asleep. Grandma encouraged her to count sheep. After a few moments of slience we heard Beths sweat voice say, "Thump" We all thought about it for a moment and then Grandma asked, "Beth what was the thump about?" "Oh, one of my sheep ran into the fence.. that's all Grandma." We couldn't stop laughing for at least an hour.
