Well, the snow is GONE!!!  HALLELUIAH!!!  Er, um - I mean - gee, that's really too bad!   

Seriously, I'm glad it's gone, even though it is beautiful to behold.  The price we've paid for having it gone so quickly, though, is lots of flooding and leaky roofs (not US, personally, but many across B.C., Washington and Oregon).  We have had record rainfalls here (apparently up to 10" in areas!!) and our back pond is up over the banks with the overflow pipe, which is a 6" diameter, not handling it well at all!  I read on CNN that at least 3 deaths have been reported due to the weather in Washington State and Oregon.  My heart goes out to all involved.

I was in Safeway in Aldergrove yesterday and there are buckets everywhere catching the leaks.  The store has a flat roof, so I guess that the excess water had to go somewhere.  One of the schools in Aldergrove had its roof cave in also because of the weight of the snow with the rain.

Well, I must go and prepare lunches for the kids.
