• Sunday, December 2, 2007 - Warm, Cozy & Yummy!

Posted in Seasonal

So, while the snow piles up outside (I think there's probably a FOOT in places), we are warm and cozy inside.  I put on a pot of Split Pea and Farmer Sausage soup and it's just simmering away now.  I also have a loaf of bread in the breadmaker to go with the soup and two loaves of banana cake in the oven.  Even though I don't like driving in this weather, I DO like to watch the beauty of the snow from INSIDE!

The kids are out playing in the snow right now.  They love it and it's a real treat for them since we don't get it too often.  They'd best enjoy it - just got an e-mail from the local radio station saying there's a Provincial flood warning out because the snow is supposed to turn to rain and with the runoff from melting snow, flooding is expected in lower areas.  Oh, dear.  Luckily, we're on high ground, but it sure is a worry for some other folks around the province.

There's a Canuck's game on at 3 p.m. - they're playing the Minnesota Wild.  May the best team win - yeah!

Blessings to all!

Nice to "meet" another adoptive family here at HSB - there are a few of us.

Hi, Gloria - thanks for your comments. Yes, I'm an adoptive mom to one after losing two after our first. It was a difficult time, but I know that God had a reason for taking them and now they are with Him and I will see them both again in Heaven. I've been to Africa with Connie to pick up their second African adoptive child - so wonderful! I would give anything to be able to adopt a beautiful young boy we met there, but it's not going to happen. I guess God is telling me my quiver is full - for now anyways.
