a big garden will be in our backyard! In fact, Mom said I could have 1/4 of the garden all to myself... she said I could grow a medicinal herb garden and a salad garden. Oh, yeah... Mom said I can have a little flower garden too. Please tell me what kind of garden you're going to have! (aka please comment)
Norm has the garden responsibilty when it is time to start planting. We will have raised beds. And put our potatoes in old tires. I have a spot for my herb garden dug up and will plant some herbs this summer. I am not a weeder, but I love to plant and harvest. Most of my herbs are for cooking, not for medicine (yet). I have to have some thyme, oregano and basil to start. Can't wait until spring!
I have a garden to.Its usally a flower garden but after it was over come with forget-me-nots we all call it a jungle! Its impossible to get them(Forget-me-nots) all out!Now I know why they have their called forget-me-nots!They never go away!I spent a whole day picking them out and they grew back again!LoL!Stupid little flowers! But of course I must admit that when they are in bloom they are beautiful! And they smell nice to!
My garden will have lots of flowers, some tomatoes and some heritage plants I haven't picked out yet, some blueberrie bushes and some perennial shrubs. I like a cottage garden!

Amy, this will be my second year gardening here in S IN. In N. IN it was soooo much easier, we had good old fashion farm ground. Anyway. I have a salad garden with lettus and spinach and peas. I grow green beans, tomatoes, and I try squash every year but the squash vine bore gets it! This year I will prevent them with floating row covers. I sprout alfalfa seeds in the winter for some fresh veggie taste in my salads and on my sandwiches. Best of luch with your garden!
Recently I've been doing a lot of container gardening for snow peas, tomatoes, lettuce and such. I haven't work the ground well enough to get too much. I did get some tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers from our clay soil.
This year I've purchased a few books and will get some sort of garden in the ground if I can get the seeds started. (For some reason I keep procrastinating.)
I purchased some strawberry plants from a sale in December and got them in the ground. I also have two blueberry bushes that I bought a few years back and they did real well last year. Hopefully this year I won't need to pick any from our local berry farm.
I have rosemary that won't die. I also have a basil and oregano that self seeds. However the basil isn't too flavorful and I intend on starting a new variety. I have some garlic chives that keep returning... that I never seem to know what to do with.
Hi Amy Rachel! I am soooo impressed with your blog. Leaves me wondering how old you are - Most of all I am loving your faith in God and all He has done for us! Good Stuff!! About my garden - it's very very small - in 5 gal plastic buckets on my back deck - tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, banana peppers and green beans. I may try my luck this year with a few things in the yard - it's a fairly large yard, and way out in the country - so I'll see. I'm looking forward to hearing what you decide to plant, and how it all goes! Bless You Darlin'. ~Linda
