• 2007-Dec-6 - cold, snowy Thursday!
as I figured, schools are closed today. This county's BOE is a complete joke. They wait until the very last minute to do what everyone already knows they will anyway. But, I am happy about it, because school is closed, my kids are HERE, and I do not have to go to work until 4:15!!!!!
This morning I'm feeling kind of crummy again. Last night I started writing something, and four pages into it, I accidentally closed it out...and I hadn't saved! I didn't realize that was the thing I was closing, because I had another file open...I thought I was closing that one and paid no attention to the "do you want to save?" warning that came up. I wondered why the other file (the one I *thought* I was closing) would ask me that because I hadn't changed anything. I could have just CRIED.
We ended up with I think almost 3 inches of snow. I took the kids out to play in it for about a half an hour last night when I got home from work. It was SOOOOOO cold! Their cheeks and noses were all red, and they were covered with snow! Tater looked so cute, all bundled up like Nanook of the North!
So, today, this is what I will do:
laundry
Read Bible
dishes
make beds
straighten living room
play Monopoly with Brandon
make Toll House cookies
vacuum
I didn't do much yesterday for Crystal's Challenge. In fact, I don't think I did anything because I felt so crummy. I need to get back on track, and quit feeling sorry for myself. The fact that I lost my writing last night is still upsetting me. I can re-write it, sure. But, it won't be the same. If you've ever written anything, you understand what I mean. You get in a flow, and it just comes out.
Anyway, for Day Four, we are supposed to think of something special to bless our families with this weekend. Well, I've already made plans with Jen for this Saturday: we are going out to her house to do Christmas crafts and have pizza and fun stuff like that. I'm thinking, though, that on Sunday for dinner, I will make breakfast. All my kids absolutely adore having breakfast for supper, so they will probably enjoy having it just as much around 2:00 when we get home from church (it takes forever to prepare, because I only have one large skillet!). I'll just give them a light sammich when we first get home. :)
This will be our menu:
bacon
taters fried in the bacon grease
toast
soppy eggs
Not the most healthy meal in the world, but we don't eat like that very often!
well, I guess I better get off here and go get dressed. I also need to lay out the butter for the cookies so it can soften. Hope everyone has a great day! |
