What's going on around here?
|
I don't post often like I used to mostly because I don't have a lot of time. But I do like to read other's blogs. When I signed on yesterday I noticed a lot of people wanting to leave and some other people posting rude things on their own blogs. What is going on around here? I mean aren't we here to share homesteading ideas and tips? I still see plenty of that going on in the last 100 posts page but I think there are way too many people that are unhappy for one reason or another. I would urge those of you wanting to leave to stay because that just makes the problem worse and gives those who are trying to hurt you more power to do it to someone else.
I personally like the different views shared here. I don't share my religious views because I consider that a personal thing that I share with those that I know or see in real life, but I don't necessarily want to share it here. Not to say that people shouldn't do it here, it's just my own personal thing. I just hope that those people that are being nasty will see what they are doing and find it in their hearts to accept everyone here. Or at least stop visiting those blogs that they can't seem to stand. I would also encourage everyone to try to stick to homesteading, since I don't think we can get ourselves into much trouble if we do that! I mean, there are plenty of other bloghosting sites you can join for free and can then write whatever your heart desires but this is homestead blogger so let's stick to that. Ok just my 2 cents since everyone else is giving theirs. Hope everything settles down around here soon.

2007-Mar-10 - I Agree

Just had to say that I agree with you. I, too, saw a couple of posts in the last 100 posts column that had to do with people ceasing their blog due to being upset about something. My first thought was to contact the person and ask what had gotten them so upset, then I realized how stupid that would be. Then it becomes gossip, and I might end up taking up their offense about something that never concerned me at all. So, I determined not to know what had gotten them upset.
I think each of us has a right to say whatever we want on our blog, and if someone doesn't like our view, then just don't visit. Why start an argument. If I don't like the view of a particular blog, I simply don't go there. I wouldn't dream of arguing with that person or mocking their belief---I would just not visit again.
Have a great day!

I agree with you, Jill! :-)
What's been going on around your homestead lately? My husband and son just got done cutting up a huge limb (practically a third of the tree! *sigh*) that broke off our pear tree during the ice storm a couple weeks ago. That same pear tree split in half from an ice storm many years ago and my husband trimmed it and repaired it as best he could and it really filled-in and grew nicely. But now about a third of what was left is now gone too. But, he cut-off clean the part that broke and put some of that "wound repair" goop on the stump-part that is "fresh" so that the bugs won't infest the tree... so hopefully it will take off again and fill out, with time.
It's been a beautiful day here in northern Indiana today. It's hard to believe we had such horrible weather a little over a week ago. Just a week ago yesterday we were in the middle of a horrible snowstorm.... right on the very day my oldest and I went out of town to pick-out her wedding dress. But we made it, wind and snow and all. Too bad the weather wasn't like today, back just a week ago though.
Love ya~ Andrea
