Rachael's Random Ramblings

Fun outing!

I got up early this morning, and the house was still......I mixed up a batch of cinnamon muffins and got them in the oven, then went and sat outside on the front porch swing to sip some milk and pet a cat or two. It was a gorgeous morning, but steamy. I coud tell it was going to be a hot one.

After the muffins came out (still no one awake yet, so I went back on the porch swing), I started thinking "I don't want to be home today....I don't want to be home today".......so when Darin emerged on the front porch......I said "I don't want to be home today." He asked me what I wanted to do and I replied "I want to go for a drive!"

So, as soon as the kids got up and ate their muffins, we got dressed and set out for a drive! We went to the historic town of Weston, MO, and the scenery is always so pretty! We had a delicious lunch at a neat brewery, Darin had bangers and mash, I had ham and cheese  "pye" which was basically a quiche, and the kids had fish and chicken from the kids menu. After we ate, we went for a walk through the historic downtown where there are dozens of neat little artsy type shops and antique stores. There was a General Store with fudge and other confections, and Elyssa and Dusty scoped out the "penny candy" section. They made their selections very carefully!

Then after we bought candy, we browsed through the local museum and learned a lot about the history of the town. There was some really neat stuff to read about and artifacts to look at! Elyssa really enjoyed it!

It was a fun day, and I got my way! LOL!
