LIFE IS THE COFFEE
A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. The conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.
Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain-looking, some expensive And some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the coffee.
After all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress."
"Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases, it's just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups...and then began eyeing each other's cups."
"Now consider this: Life is the coffee, and the jobs, houses, cars, things, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain life, and the type of cup we have does not define nor change the quality of life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us."
God brews the coffee, not the cups . . . enjoy your coffee.
"Being happy :) doesn't mean everything's perfect, It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections"
Live in peace and peace will live in you.

• Sunday, May 14, 2006 - Mothers Day ?
A Mom recently asked a question about what her children REALLY thought of her as a Mom. Not about the love does she appear to them as someone who just does the things that need done in life as a SAHM or do they see her as a Mom who truly enjoys the work (all of it including the vomit and dirty underwear) that is hers every single day.
These were my thoughts as this question was also upon my heart this day that we Moms are honored :
I was wondering if my children REALLY know I love them. Not just because I tell them, and I do everyday with lots of hugs too, but because they feel it through my joy in taking care of them? Am I rushing through chores so I can have a break or so I can play a game of trouble or read them a book. I found myself before church thinking how nice to have a day off where everyone can let me have some me time (and that is needed too) but by the time I got home I didn't Want to be left alone because that is not why I am a Mommy. Yes I want to read a book for fun without getting up to make lunch and yes I want to take a LOOOOONG bath in my garden tub but it will be much sweeter with a little one telling me about what fun it was picking out my present (a Kitchenaid stand mixer ). So for today I won't do the house work that has been so nicely taken over by little hands but I will not be " left alone" for Mothers Day I will be with the ones who gave me the Mommy name. We will be gluing ,painting, reading and just talking. _________________ |

WORDS* A Child's Love ~ Author Unknown
A child's love is like a whisper, given in little ways we do not hear. But if you listen closely, it will be very clear.
They often do not say it loud, but in how they come to you... Daddy, will you play with me? Mommy, tie my shoe?
The many ways they tell you, changes as they grow. Dad, I made the team today! Mom, I've Got to go! Pop, I need some money, You see there's...this girl at school.
Mama, I met a boy today and Wow, he's so cool! Dad, I've got something to tell you... I think she is the one!
Mom, he asked me to marry him. Would you love him as your son? Dad, I've got some news for you.... It's going to be a boy!
Mom, I'm kind of scared of this, yet I'm filled with joy! A child's love is like a whisper, given in little ways we do not hear.
But if you listen closely, it will be very clear. They often do not say it loud, but in how they come to you...
Grandpa, will you play with me? Grandma, tie my shoe?
It is never ending. A blessing from above. Listen to the whispers, in a child's love. ************************************************************************** |
