Abbey made James some sweet pastry - it does have flour (wheat & Gluten) but very small amounts he can cope with - however this did tip him over & he paid with real sore eczema last night. But he enjoyed it - also used olivani instead of butter.James had great fun rolling out his top - TIP place pastry between plastic film & your bench & rolling pin don't get pastry stuck to it.

If using a pastry wheel to cut strips cut it towards you - I was cutting away from me & mine were real wonky. James knew to cut towards himself from working with Brent in shed - its true you have more control when it is brought to you. - I have never used a pastry wheel before - something Abbey wanted for her baking - I am use to just cutting strips with a knife - James had nice even strips & then he weaved his topping.

James' pie.
Our pie - notice my wonky strips - Abbey put candles in & they all sung to me.Recipe.
Make or use a ready made sweet short pastry, Line tin.
Cut raw rhubarb up finely - top with strawberries - I just use enough to fill the pie dish generously. (I had about 8 stalks of rhubarb & one punnet of strawberries for both pies)
Sprinkle with sugar to taste.
Bake in a mod oven until cooked.
Serve with whipped cream.
Rhubarb doesn't take long to cook - lots of people over cook rhubarb.
