Quilting & Naughty goat

Posted in Quilting

Saturday rain!!! I got the cattery cleaned & girls had some time outside. Then it rained oh my it has been a long we winter - not cold but wet! I did an awesome acrobat fall up the cattery steps - holding a queen on call. Some good bruising! Thankfully Brent came to my rescue & locked up the dog.I could only catch the cat by not wearing the PVC yellow coat Brent brought me down - Cindy was scared of the coat. So I got lovely & wet. But at least caught the cat - one doesn't want a queen on call out & about!

I didn't get much sewing done but did get another block finished. This block is called Indian Star
I've only got two more blocks to go.
James said he wanted a green border.. Think, think, think. I don't really want to be spending at the moment so as it is a scrappy star quilt. I cut up all the green I have into 2 1/5 inch blocks & will make a scrappy border.
We had another storm last night, high winds & heavy rain.

This morning I look outside & Molly Goat & one ewe is out running around the house. On goes the gumboots - in nighty & dressing gown (I love not having neighbours)
Naughty Molly goat has eaten two olive trees - Brent will not be pleased!
Molly likes sheep nuts so I was able to bribe her back into a fenced area. All of the mates wanted feeding then too.
Photos a bit too dark - a tad too early in the morning for photos I think.

Brent will not be pleased about the olive trees. - Still once again the broad beans haven't been eaten. In case you are wondering the pukeko's ate all my winter garden but left broad beans. I am NOT a fan of broad beans - growing them for Brent. I just think it's a hoot none of the animals eat the jolly broad beans!

A warm welcome to our families daily blog. "Living The Good Life"

We are a family of four & I’m the luckiest girl I know! Married to my best friend for over 21 years, raising two wonderful children on our 3 acre farmlet in New Zealand.

I was a Bank Manager in previous life (before kids) and now a kept women - home schooling our two kids. Brent is a Service Projects Manager and brings home the bacon for the family.

We got "off the bus" ie away from continual comsumption & accumulation of material goods & find much joy in living a simple life.

I enjoy writing & sharing views on living a simple life, menu planning, living on one income in a two income world, home schooling, dyslexia, severe food allergies, raising coloured sheep, goats & hens, quilting, reading, cooking, gardening and of course cats.

"It is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.”

The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life.
~ Robert Louis Stevenson
