Week 2 school Holidays

Posted in Daily Life

Mon & Tuesday were fine & I got in garden.
Came down with another cold & feeling pretty tired & unwell. - I am soo over winter! Abbey went to bed early with a sore throat & headache last night poor thing.

Wednesday I got Abbey set up on NZhome & Office programme I had on a floppy - it is that old, for her accounting assignment (See home schooling is a lifestyle we are doing school in holidays). Thursday I got MYOB off a friend - it's 6 years old but works for what we want. Which is a training tool for Abbey's accounting assignment. - I've spent a bit of time trying to learn it and stumbed on how to issue credits from suppliers grrrrr BAsh wack! Mark gave me a good tip to get Ab to do a projected income as it's pretty hard for a 14 nearly 15 year old to receive money from sales & then not have it available as need to restock.- ahhh this accounting assignment is growing - and I'm real excited for her. It is also going to be wonderful to say on her CV that she had her own business using MYOB since she was 14 years old.
We have been playing SIMS 2 Open for Business & it is quite educational and relevant to our accounting assignment, especially talking profit, loss & percentages - mmm might have to give her some school time to play SIMS2 on her Sims business.

Thursday the kids had a very first last time moment, they went on the train by themselves & had to get off at a stop to meet Brent -he then took them into the city and James got his birthday  & Christmas present- an amp for his electric guitar. We gave him this option so he could get a new amp - One very happy boy! - He had a play on it last night & now it is out of bounds until his birthday. However he thinks if he contacts his guitar teacher - he may like to pop around & see his amp and he knows I would let the teacher & James use it GRIN.

A warm welcome to our families daily blog. "Living The Good Life"

We are a family of four & I’m the luckiest girl I know! Married to my best friend for over 21 years, raising two wonderful children on our 3 acre farmlet in New Zealand.

I was a Bank Manager in previous life (before kids) and now a kept women - home schooling our two kids. Brent is a Service Projects Manager and brings home the bacon for the family.

We got "off the bus" ie away from continual comsumption & accumulation of material goods & find much joy in living a simple life.

I enjoy writing & sharing views on living a simple life, menu planning, living on one income in a two income world, home schooling, dyslexia, severe food allergies, raising coloured sheep, goats & hens, quilting, reading, cooking, gardening and of course cats.

"It is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.”

The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life.
~ Robert Louis Stevenson
