... one of those good days ...

Posted in DailyThoughts

I didn't get everything done today, but I am very happy with all that I did accomplish ... as I posted this morning (see previous post), it's better to take things as they come and quit worrying about the future so much. I got up at 6am with my dh and got on the treadmill. I forgot to do my morning journaling ... well, I didn't forget, but I sorta did it in my head while on the treadmill. I don't watch TV while exercising. I just let my mind wander and I pray and think about the day and week ahead. Also got Jenna up for her 2 miles treadmil walk.

Started back to homeschooling and my son had a fairly long day, but he did pretty well getting back to it all. Jenna had a hard time not getting on the internet/computer and she hadn't logged out from last night. BIG no-no that I'll need to correct tonight. She's supposed to be logged out each night so that there is no temptation to get on in the morning. I did much better staying offline while school was going on. I wasn't perfect, but tried to only be online when I wasn't truly needed by anyone. I'm having to catch up on some reading from Lord of the Rings, too, and I made progress in that. I'll be hitting the book again tonight because I want to get back to my own reading soon.

What I was most happy about is getting the laundry started early and having it all folded before lunch. That's a big accomplishment for me as it is often still on the bed when it's time for me to go to bed! I ate well today, but didn't get all of my water in yet. It won't happen today, but I'll be there soon. The afternoon was productive as I made it through most of my phone calls that had to be done. Then to the fitness center to lift weights with my daughter and I did another mile on the treadmill before I left. The family is now at karate and I'm blogging during my "me" time. The only thing that would make this even better is some Dove chocolate, but that wouldn't be good for my diet.

I leave you with a picture of what I saw upon returning from the fitness center. But first, a little background. This is the cat that upchucked on my dining room table cloth sometime overnight. I had to strip the table to wash it and I laid the placemats on top of the bowl that was in the center of the table. Luckily, I hadn't put any fruit in the bowl yet - LOL!

:: Getting Healthy ::

I have been diagnosed with insulin resistance and PCOS. This makes it difficult to lose weight, but I am trying my best to get healthy again. I am back to walking and weight training, beginning in September. I hope to add in some yoga soon as well - I've never tried it, but have always wanted to! I am currently seeing a chiropractor and massage therapist regularly to try and get my back realigned properly again, too.

My current eating plan is focused on eating gluten-free foods "from the original garden." I believe that I have food sensitivities and am trying to figure out which items set off the symptoms (rash, upset stomach, etc.).

as of August 29, 2008.

:: My Faith ::

I attend a Lutheran church and am active in many ways. My husband and I lead the youth group. I am a member of the Fellowship & Recreation and the Mutual Ministries committees. My husband is president of the Admin Council and my daughter often participates as an acolyte or crucifier during the services.
