After going through the sales circulars this morning after church, I decided that it was worth it to make a trip to CVS. Here's a picture of what I purchased this morning:
This purchase had a retail value of almost $70 and I paid $4.05 out of pocket. I could have paid $4 less, but I wasn't sure if the SoyJoy deal was working at my CVS and the new cashier wasn't sure either, so I had to buy an initial run of $4 bars to see if it would work. Here are the details:
$19.99 One Touch Mini - had coupon for up to $20 off - ** FREE **
$24 in SoyJoy - used coupons in today's paper worth $4 off and used $4 off $20 diet/nutrition CVS coupon ** EARNED $20 IN CVS ECB'S ** SO MADE $8 ON THIS DEAL!
$2.99 Colgate - used $.75 coupon, earned $2 ECB
$1.99 Excedrin - used $2 coupon, earned $1 ECB
$1.49 Palmolive - used $.25 coupon, earned $1 ECB
$2.79 (2) Stayfree - used $2 coupon
Once the entire purchase was rung up, I also used a $10 off $50 purchase that printed off on last week's receipt and a $5 off $30 purchase that I found at MoneySavingMom.com (expires today!). I'm glad that I was able to get such good deals today without much out of pocket. My earned $20 ECB's plus a $2.99 that I got last week will get me moving again at CVS.
I've already spent $390 of my $500 budgeted amount for groceries, so am going to have to be careful what I spend for the rest of the month. My local store sends out coupons by mail and they have FOUR $5 off a $45 purchase coupons to use for the next 4 weeks, one each week. So, I am going to use that to help me limit myself to $45/week. That will put me slightly over budget for the month, but I've done some stocking up on a bunch of B1G1F that they had at the store last week. Those items should carry through February.
Well, that's my big savings for today. I didn't see anything worth getting at Walgreens or Rite-Aid. There are some sale items, but I just don't want to spend much out of pocket this month. That's why I love CVS the most ... once you get a big build-up of ECB's, you can just keep rolling them and spend next to nothing out of pocket.
