I don't know what to do?
Obviously stop spending cash.
But I just found out that if I do not keep
Insurance, that when he DOES get a job,
and they find out there was a lapse, they do not
cover pre exsisting ailments
for one year!!!
Things like this.
If you have ANY advice, I am willing to listen.
Thank you...
Ladies from Home School Fellowship!

Welcome!
I had recently opened an account on
home school fellowship for the sole purpose of
contacting Shauna.
I logged in, went straight to Shauna's PM and
left her my email address, my log in name,
and I think my password, in case she wanted to remove it.
I was totally upfront and honest about
what I was seeking.
The only email address I have of Shauna's is no longer
working, and I have lost her cell number.
I sent her a PM through this board, but she
has not been on in ages, so I don't know if she still
gets alerts that she has messages.
I apologize for stirring up the dust.
I thought maybe Shauna could share some of her
insights into a situation I am in
that she is familuar with.
I can see that I should not have disturbed her.
Please forgive me.

Honesty
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Matthew 7:2
Honesty is a fruit of a Spirit-filled life. Loving our neighbor as our self prohibits our being dishonest with him.
The story is told of a farmer who delivered a pound of butter to the baker each week. In turn, he would purchase a loaf of bread from the baker. The baker noticed that the pound of butter seemed to be getting smaller and smaller. One day he confronted the farmer about the apparent problem.
“Don’t you have scales to weigh your butter?” he asked.
“No,” the farmer replied.
“Well,” asked the baker, “how do you know you are giving me a pound of butter if you have no scales?”
The farmer answered, “I always use your loaf of bread, which is labeled one pound, as a balance.”
Verse 12 of our Scripture reading teaches us to do to others as we would have them do to us. Verses 18–20 remind us that a good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit. Our daily conduct should reflect an attitude of putting others first. Let us always be sure to be honest in all our dealings.

The Sunset
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Philippians 1:21
Traveling home from the distant town of Jinotega late one afternoon, we were all tired. The road was bad, the vehicle was crowded, and it was one of those times when it would have felt really good to have been at home NOW instead of traveling another two or three hours. Jinotega is situated in a valley, among the beautiful rugged
mountains of Nicaragua. Naturally, the road is a genuine mountain road, winding through the hills and hollows. As we rounded a curve, to our right unfolded one of the most beautiful sunsets one could ever hope to see. Out across a valley, behind a distant mountain, the sun was setting in full grandeur, like a golden ball of fire. Being from the western plains, we viewed the awesome scene with something like a holy emotion.
We say the elderly are in the sunset of life, but in reality, none of us, whether middle aged or young, know just where our “sun” is positioned on the horizon. The apostle Paul said in Philippians 1:20 whether by life or death his desire was to magnify Christ.
There is a feeling akin to a holy awe that comes over us when we take a tiny infant into our arms for the first time. The miracle of life is awesome. Is it any less awesome to stand by the still form of a loved one who has won the battle and gone to meet his Maker and his Savior? There is rejoicing in heaven over one soul that is saved, but what must take place when one saved soul returns to the God who gave it, having magnified the name of Christ first by his life, and then again by death?

Brrr, is it ever cold........

Hello everyone. I was busy wrapping a present for David's bank's annual Christmas dinner and gift exchange and didn't get to the library as early as I had hoped, so it will be a quick note tonight.
After a very mild fall, we have settled into a cold spell. Thank you, Lord, for our woodstove.
I talked to Maria on the phone today. She is loving being with her friends in Bozeman and spent most of her day doing her Christmas shopping. Tonight there will be a get together at the home of one of the Montana Bible College instructors. That will give her an opportunity to see even more of her friends and acquaintances, so she was looking forward to it.
Since her car is in the shop, she has mine. She mentioned that she feels embarrassed driving a car with a Bowtech sticker in the window. Must be the redneck connotation. Heh, heh!
We have a busy weekend coming up. We will attend the dinner tomorrow night. On Saturday, we will drive to the town of Fairfield, an hour away, for an arts and crafts show. We'll take our Montana Christmas ornaments and pray for a profitable and enjoyable day.
On Sunday, David and I will facilitate a morning Sunday school class. We will show a video and follow up with some questions.
When time allows I have been baking breads for holiday giving: challah braids, pumpernickle and Italian olive bread. Most people don't want too many sweets for the holidays, so breads are well received.
Better get ready to open the library. Blessings to all of you.

Aside from fighting colds this week life has been humming along. I managed to get a little baking done yesterday. I went to make Tobin some breakfast and realized I was completely out of bread… I was quite happy to have some sprouted wheat english muffins in my freezer, so he still got his breakfast! I made 6 loaves of my whole wheat bread. I was making some bean soup for dinner and also made a pan of honey wheat dinner rolls to go along with that. Sierra made a batch of peanut butter oatmeal cookies.
At this point only Emily, Sierra and I have the cold and I hope that is the way it stays! We have been taking lots of Nutribiotic, and drinking herb tea. Unfortunately I ran out of Emergen-C packets. I found a place online that sells them for a great price (http://www.luckyvitamin.com/ ). I usually order them from Azure but even with shipping I paid less per box than what I can get them for through Azure. So I ordered 3 boxes and hope they will arrive soon. Tobin has not gotten this cold, which is good.. he is currently working on repairs on one of our rentals during his weekends. We were hoping for some down time this winter.. ~sigh~ but when things like this come up you just have to deal with it. I am praying he does not get sick and can keep up his strength until the project is done.
We still do not have our tree up. We always get live trees and if we get them too early they dry out to fast so we will wait until maybe next Saturday to get it. Because the cold hit us I have yet to get my Christmas decorations out either. I hope to get to that either today or tomorrow. We need this house looking a lot more festive! About the only thing we are doing regularly is playing Christmas music! I must say my favorite CD for this Christmas is Casting Crowns new Christmas CD. I keep switching between that and a couple of Kenny G holiday CD’s and Kenny Chesney’s Christmas CD (with my all time favorite song.. All I Want For Christmas is a Real Good Tan.. LOL) and others.. I am amazed at how many Christmas CD’s I have collected over the years. Hopefully by the weekend our home will not only sound like the Christmas season but look like it too!
The next thing that I MUST finish today and tomorrow is Christmas gifts that I will be sending out in the mail. I don’t have a lot to do on them and I will feel a great sense of accomplishment once they are done and in the mail!
The countdown continues for my son.. less than 2 weeks now until he leaves Iraq. These last few weeks have really been tough for him.. you would think things would lighten up as they prepare to leave.. but he says, nope.. they are working the guys 16 hours a day except on Sunday, they only work 12.. I know he is exhausted both mentally and physically. I am so looking forward to him coming home and getting some relax time with us… and he is too!
Well dinner tonight will be leftovers! I have bean soup left from last night and if it is not enough to go around I will add some grilled cheese sandwiches to it. Tobin does not have to work tonight (his usual night to work), instead he is attending a training class at work this morning and will be home to enjoy the evening with us. We have a couple more LOST episodes to watch.. that show is rather addicting! I don’t know what I will do when we watch all the ones that are out on DVD.. I guess just wait patiently for the rest of them to come out! LOL..
That is all the updates from my homestead! I hope you are all enjoying the Christmas season!

Lades and Gentleman
My blog, of late, has been dark.
I have not been kind
AND
I have not been very grateful.
When I started blogging here, it was strictly for
information.
As I grew "comfortable" I opened up more.
Bad idea!!
So, this blog, "Just Give Me Jesus"
will be a place where I
Ask questions about homesteading
tell what I know about home steading
(that will be short and sweet!)
and
My journey with Jesus.
I have created a second blog for my "dark side".
It's called
"What Personality Are We Talking To Now"
It is 90% for me and 10% for a
few to weigh in on.
There are a handful of gals here that have been
very wise in their advice
and I treasure their opinions.
Otherwise, the general public will not have to be
subjected to my 'vomit stories' any more!!
YEAH!!!!!
ahahhahahhahahhah
Seriously, I do apologize for all the gloom and doom.
From here on out
It will be homesteading and Journey!!
Ohio Star..begining new quilt project!
Posted on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 10:34 by Sher - 4 Comments - Post Comment - Link
I've been away for awhile due to being sick but am happy to be back blogging once again! While sick, I kept thinking about an Ohio Star quilt and wanting to get started on a new project. So, aside from a hacking cough and a bit of congestion I'm happy to be up and about and to have this quilt to work on. Truly, it's nothing fancy but I do like the look of the block using solids, a small print and a plaid fabric together all in a burgundy color.
You may notice the block is just resting upon the plaid fabric, after I get all the blocks sewn then I'll add the plaid fabric as sashings around each block and maybe add corner blocks as well but wanted to share what it will look like together.

You may also noticed that my points aren't 100% perfect but they're close so not a real big deal, I guess. Maybe once the hand quilting is in place it will all look just fine...well that's what I'm hoping for anyway! LOL
Okay, that's all to share for now. Thanks for stopping by for a visit!
Peacefully, Sher

Attentiveness
That ye be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets.
2 Peter 3:2
When Henry Nelson of Wilmington, Delaware, arrived home one evening, he discovered that his apartment complex was being fumigated with hydrogen-cyanide. He removed the sign, tore down the barricade, and went in. Neighbors tried to warn him and called the authorities. But by the time help arrived, it was too late. Henry Nelson was dead.
Mount St. Helens in the Cascade Mountains of Washington state was dormant for several hundred years. However, a few years ago, authorities discovered that there was activity and reason to believe there might be a serious eruption. People were evacuated from the area. But Harry Truman, who had grown up on those beautiful slopes, refused to leave. When the eruption was over, Harry and his home were buried under tons of volcanic ash.
Both men disregarded both written and verbal warnings, and it cost them their lives. If they had learned to be attentive, they would not have died.
When we ignore the instructions of the written Word, we show the highest disregard for God. “My son, hear the instructions of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother. For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck” (Proverbs 1:8, 9).
