A Quiet Little Woman

God Works in Mysterious Ways

12:00, Tuesday, October 16, 2007 .. Posted in Our little barnyard .. 7 comments .. Link

I've been meaning to post this for awhile but I've been so busy!  This past Saturday we pressed apples from our orchard all day long.  And the amazing thing is that we pressed about 70 bushels of our own apples and then we miraculously got three more appointments!  One man even just showed up and asked us if we would press his apples!  We've almost paid for 1/5 of our press with the pressings we did on Saturday!  Some simply AMAZING things have happened this past week and every time my mom and I just have to say that "God works in mysterious ways"!!  His ways do not make sense to us, but he shows how much he loves us by the ways that he blesses us!!

One of the most amazing things that happened this week is that we are in the process of buying more land!!  We have (not even) 1/3 acre, but there are about 2-3 acres behind us.  There are 2 pastures that belong to different neighbors and they let us do pretty much whatever we want with them. Earlier this year our next door neighbor got cancer and so we have been taking care of his yard and pasture, and his wife just said that they are ready to sell the pasture to us.  I have some fairly wealthy grandparents and they were going to buy some land for us, but we just couldn't find anything that we felt good about.  So now they are willing to buy THIS beautiful land for us!  And then we are praying that our other neighbor will sell his pasture to us!  The pasture we are buying is 0.42 acres (yes we DO count acres in points here!! ;) so we will have almost an ACRE!!!  ALL I can say is that God really truly does work in mysterious ways!  A year ago I would have NEVER been happy with 0.42 acres!!  I had written a list that said that I wanted 100 acres... and now I am rejoicing in the fact that we almost have one!!!

God truly does work in mysterious ways!!!!

p.s. these are pictures of our soon to be pasture, we are planning on putting it ALL in garden!!  The pasture goes to the fence... if you can see it!!

Hello!

We also count are acre's in points. We own .94 acre:) Not that much but it is enough for us right now:) I was wondering how much is an acre using points? We were told that we owned 1 acre but I don't think .94 is an acre.

Blessings,

Ma

Ma,
I could be wrong, but I think that 100 points is an acre. I'll ask my dad later and correct it if I'm wrong :) I think we'll have just about as much as you, and I agree... it's PERFECT!!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Blessings,
Alex

Your pictures are beautiful! I love your garden. The carrots look yummy. :o]
We have ¾ of an acre, and we feel very blessed to have that. It’s amazing what one can accomplish with under an acre. However, 3 years ago we bought 10 acres in Idaho where we’ll be moving this coming spring/summer. It boggles my mind how much land that is compared to what we have here…..
Anyway, I can’t wait to see your pictures next year after you’ve expanded your garden. :o]
God Bless!
Heidi

Hi Alex!

Thank you as always, for stopping by and for being so sweet! To answer your question, I have an account on photobucket where I store all of my photos. In fact, I have two albums, and one contains over 800 photos! Can you believe that? Of course, some are backgrounds and such, but still. :o)

It's free to join and then all you do is link your pictures from there in your blog posts. I've seen others who use Flickr, but I don't know anything about them. If you do decide to join photobucket, feel free to ask any questions. (Oh, and make sure you make your album a private one.) Hope that helps!

Congratulations on the new property. It is very nice. I'm glad you like our root cellar. I like it too. Now it is full to overflowing with potatoes and carrots too. Too bad I didn't get those in the pictures. God is so good!

Where is your property at? What state I mean?

Is that you in your avatar?

Carol

Thanks for posting on my blog, it's great to "meet" another like-minded young lady!! I've enjoyed your blog... looks like you are a very busy and productive gal!! I love canning, preserving and gardening, too! My husband and I are DREAMING of moving to the country, but right now we have just under an acre of land in town... that doesn't stop us from playing farm, though!! Thanks again for dropping by and introducing yourself... I look forward to getting to know you better, too!
