canning kitchen... can anyone relate????

We've been really busy with "preserving" (as we like to call it) lately!!  Isn't our kitchen lovely!!?? (HA!!)  Quite the mess... ;) my mom said that once she gets canning she enjoys it, but the cleaning up part is what she doesn't like!!  We are dehydrating a TON... peaches, pears, zucchini, summer squash, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, apples, pineapple... pretty much everything!  We were doing applesauce today, I think that we got about 20 quarts... more to do tomorrow!!  Enjoy the harvest season!!!

I too just got done doing my applesauce. I ended up putting 39 quarts away for the winter. I worked from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to get it all done. I borrowed one of my friends machines like you have in your picture. what a treat that was. I hope to be heading to the store tomorrow to purchase one of my own to do pears in next. have fun with all the apples.
