Today was a fun day. First thing this morning we got up and got to chopping firewood. We all helped out and it took awhile. After that fun my hubby killed his first chicken. The kids kept asking him to do it and then when he did the girls ran screaming and crying. It took awhile for them to calm down. When he finished cleaning it the girls and I seasoned it and stuck it in the oven. Then we headed to town to get 18 FREE milk crates. I am so happy we got them for free because we really needed them. When we got home I made some rice and green beans. The chicken came out so tender that it was falling off the bone. We did our homeschooling and some crafts after dinner. We had a great day and it ended with great food.
• Sunday, November 25, 2007 - Fun Thanksgiving vacation
We had a great time this week. We went to moms house and had a great meal and got to visit with family. Then we had the "fun" trip home. Hubby and kids helped get his things together for his relocation to Germany. He signs out from post completely tomorrow. I cant wait. My sis, mr muscles, and all her kids (yes they are all hers ...lol) came to help out today. We got our big tree next to the house finally cut down. That was a fun time....especially to watch . The kids kids all got to play have fun visiting while the men worked hard and sis and I supervised. After they did thier manly things we all got to go out to eat. We went to Smokey Bones. It was so delicious. We all had a great time. With 13 of us the poor waitress never got a break . After we ate they all headed of on thier trip home and we went to get gas. The kids were very unhappy that we couldnt keep all thier kids overnight and then just take them home later. I would love to see how we would fit 9 kids and 2 adults in a 6 seater truck. LOL. It was a great Thanksgiving vacation. I hope everyone else had a blessed a fun time this Thanksgiving.
This weekend was such a blast! We all had such a great time at the beach. The water was the perfect temp. We had a BBQ on the beach and the food was amazing. My stepdad is great at the grill. None of the kids wanted to stop playing to eat. It was so great to see all the cousins together and having a great time. I really enjoyed seeing my family all together. We brought home four hermit crabs from the beach. They now have a "home" in my house. We also made sure we visited Walmart in Destin. All my friends think it is so funny that I went all the way to the beach to have fun and still take time to go to Walmart. I can't wait till we can go again.
I hope everyone else had a great weekend like we did.
When we got home we were so tired but we had a lot of work to do around the homestead. We have now got the doors taken care of so the heat does not come through the cracks anymore. They have been repaired. We also got the American made grill put together and the new patio table set done. We also were able to donate all our appliances that we just replaced. I am so happy people who need them have them and they are not at the local dump. I am still going through my things so I can donate some more and free up the clutter in my home. Which is always a good thing.
• Thursday, September 13, 2007 - Hard day of shopping
I spent hours shopping trying to find birthday gifts for my neice and nephew and it was so difficult. I found something for my nephew you quickly because he loves Army things, but my niece on the other hand is another story. After hours of searching I could not find one toy that was'nt made in China. I did not realize how much crap we have from over there. I don't know when we became a nation who depended on other country's to produce ALL our childrens toys. It is ridiculous. If anyone knows where I can get something that is made in the USA I would really appreciate it. I would really like to be able to buy things for all of my family without this much effort to find something that says "Made in the USA". Hope everyone has a blessed day!
Life is so busy here that I forgotten to get on here to update family and friends. Sorry it has been so long. We have been trying to get things together and set up for up coming events such as Germany.
The chicken coup is coming along great. We have four chickens so far. We ordered more and some guineas yesturday. They should be here in two weeks. We are all excited and can't wait for them to get here.
We had friends over yesturday for a BBQ and it was great. They did not leave till late because the kids were having a great time in the pool. We also watched the race. Our driver Jimmie Johnson won again! After all the screaming and celebrating it was time to clean up a huge mess. Everyone chipped in and it was done quickly.
We are also getting ready for a trip to Florida soon. We are going to the beach to get away from work and home. We all need some relax time. It will be a family event. My sis and her family, my mom and dad, and my family are all going to have a great time and catch up. I can't wait to see all of my family.
My hubby also reenlisted for another 6 years in the Army. We are all so proud of him. His family and my best friend showed up for the ceremony. It was so wonderful to see how many people support and love him.
Well that is all for now. I have to get the kids and hubby together to go help a friend out. I hope everyone has a blessed day!
• Tuesday, July 24, 2007 - We have orders to Germany
I recieved a call at 5:30 am from Hubby to tell me we had orders to Germany. Our report date in 1 Jan 2008. If you know me well you know I don't fly! I don't know what we are going to do yet but he can't delete the orders. He is going to try to get the time reduced to 18 months unaccompanied tour. That means the kids and I will stay here alone while he is deployed. The unit he is going to will deploy him to Iraq within 6 weeks of reporting to Germany. I will post more when I know more.
1: interupting me- i just hate it

Sunday was a wonderful family day. We started our day off by attending Sunday school, which was so much fun because we were all able to tell stories of things that have happened to us and alot were funny. Next we went on to church services where Pastor Chuck then got up on his "soapbox" and taught a very imformative and fun service. The services were held at Grace Community Church (GCC) in Millbrook. From there we all went out for mexican food where we were seated and recieved service immediately ( amazing ). The food was great. Next we drove off to go shopping. I did'nt find anything I was in desperate need of but mom found a couple of things. Ms. I'm 9 going on 20 found a mirror she purchased but Ms. Little Bit and Mr. Soldier Boy did'nt see anything they really wanted. And then off we went homeward bound so the children could swim and we could bake something for the potluck at GCC later that evening. We made Pumpkin pie and Pistachio salad. We all got ready and headed out the door to GCC once again. We arrived a few minutes early so I let the children play on the playground while the adults set everything up. The food was amazing and the conversations were stimulating. Then it was time to shuffle the kids off to a room to watch movies and play while the adults got down to business. We were seperated into smaller groups to discuss the surveys, we were given at church services, on a five year plan for GCC. After awhile we discussed the results in a large group. There were alot of opinions, some good, some bad and some people thought their ideas were the only ones that were correct, and alot of discussion. There were so much to say and discuss that we finally just had to get the children and leave so we could get home and put them to bed. It was a Wonderful Sunday!
Things are going so much better in my life than they have in years. I am so happy in life right now. I really hope things continue to get better and better.
My girls are doing great. They both got haircuts this week that are absolutely beautiful on them. My boy is still waiting for his head to be shaved like daddy's. The homeschooling is going great! The kids are loving it and I am shocked how easy it is. If you know me then you know I have no patience and this requires none from me. I thought I would lose it in the first week but I am doing great.
I am having a great time visiting my mom. We spent hours at the park in Millbrook yesturday and it was one of the best times I have had in along time. I would love to have that day repeat . We were so tired when we got home but I could'nt stop smiling for anything. It was so great. I have been waiting for a day like that for awhile.
We added a new puppy to our family and I hear things are going great. I am 2 hours away from there so I can't say how true that is. LOL. I can't wait to see him and let Little Bit name him. He is a black lab and 6 weeks old. I hear he is a very active little boy. Beauty is'nt sure about him and does NOT want to share the bedroom with him.
Well I gotta go take the kids swimming in the pool and get some of this energy out. Have a blessed day!
Hi ya'll! I am new and wanted to say Hi to all who can read this. I hope to learn alot about homeshooling and taking care of my new homestead. Hi Rhen!
