One Hour in the Morning...

Is worth two in the afternoon!  I know I used that quote at the bottom of a previous post, but I so love it-it's so true!

I woke up at 5:00am and couldn't get back to sleep.  So, I got up and in about an hour (by myself with everyone else still sleeping) I got 2 loads of laundry folded, the living room picked up, all the floors dust-mopped.  I also made a double batch of blueberry muffins, made coffee and pastuerized 2 gallons of milk.

It feels so good to have gotten so much done!!  And you know what, I just love praying while folding laundry.   Usually I fold laundry later and often the kids talk to me while I'm doing that (and they usually help).

It was nice to visit with my dh before he had to leave for work. He'll be home really late today, so this was my only chance to talk to him face to face. We do talk on the phone a lot during the day, though.  I also like to send him emails. I sent some warm muffins with him to work to share.

Here's a pic of what I got when I went "shopping outside" today:

It is the neatest thing to walk around our place and come back in with groceries.  The reddish things to the left are garlic bulbs.  I planted a whole bed of them in the fall, but in December we got a warm spell and then a full blast Winter, so most of the garlic didn't make it.

We are really enjoying our new furniture.  The end tables and area rug haven't come yet, but boy are the couches comfortable.  The other night I reclined back and Hannah rubbed my feet for me.  She's such a sweetheart.

I logged on this morning before the house wakes up and was a bit chagrined at your busy morning vs. my "sit and just be" morning! However, my mother-in-law says, "Rest is not idleness"! I jumped over to your homeschool blog as well. Lots of fun and inspirational things! Loved the story of your little one getting "bullied" and how your two older ones took care of her. My own 8-y.o. dynamo has "lots of opportunities" as well to learn proper caring behavior. I joke with my own mom that you should never ask God to make you a more praying parent...because He'll find lots of ways to keep you on your knees! I love being able to "chat" with other Christian moms who are doing their best to live in this world without being of it! Just a very friendly comment that you might not know about: when I click on your blinky links on your homeschool page, I'm directed to the main page of Photobucket which contains many random images...some of which I'm sure you wouldn't approve of! Is your link correct? Please understand that this is coming from a very unskilled blogger and I may be messing up somewhere! I just wanted to let you know in case your "cookies" (or whatever) on your computer read the link you meant to embed while those of us in cyberland are being sent to a different site. I'd like to mark your homestead blog in my friends section so I can more easily return if that's alright with you! Thanks again for your fun blogs!

Holly;

Wow were you busy this morning. I totally agree it is so much easier to get alot done early in the morning. Good for you. Wish I was at your house this morning; I can almost smell the muffins. I am sure your hubby enjoyed them. Have a very blessed day

Hi Holly,

I enjoyed your photo and post about your "shopping" trip :) .
I also had trouble with the carnival button. If you go back to the site and read the post where the code is, you have to take out all of the spaces (except 3, and I can't remember which ones) that come up when you paste the code into your template. Once you get all those spaces out, it should work- at least it did for me :) . Hope that helps, and I do hope you will send an entry for next week's carnival.
Have a great day!
Catherine

I had to laugh at you and your daughters comments. She wanted to put me on her friends list and I told her that was fine. I think I'll have my daughter start a blog as well since there seem to be so many nice girls on here. Now as far as your quote,I love it and it's so true. I get up about 3 hours before the kids get up and I get so much done. I enjoy the peace and quiet because I know it's short lived lol. I love your bounty that you picked it looks great. We hope to be able to grow something besides palm trees some day lol.
Blessings on you and your family.
