Windy!!!

WOW is it windy today. I wish we had some kites today would be a perfect kite flying day. It is almost warm today at about 43. The sun is out mostly anyway. I went and helped a friend of mine today. Her husband and her just recently bought a forclosed house that someone just left. They have had to go in and go through everything that was in the house. The people who lived there had left a couple dogs in there and it was awful! So, I went and helped her go through one of the bedrooms today. I will go back on Monday and help her some more. What a job. But it will be a blessing for them. The will be able to fix it up for pretty cheap and then sell it. It has beautiful views and a nice amount of property with is, so it should go pretty quickly.
My chicks are still alive. The first night I could hardly sleep. For some reason I had this strange feeling that I was going to wake up to a box of dead chicks. But we have made it through two nights and everyone is still healthy and happy. (as far as I can tell.)
Had some scary news yesterday. A friend of mine went down to Kalispell ( the largest town near to us) to do her shoping and found out that the whole town is almost out of rice and beans. Costco still has some, but they are actually rationing the amounts that people can buy! I think my jaw must have droped to the floor when she told me that. I know that things are not very good right now, but to see the results so obviously and so close to home was a huge wake up call. I wasn't going to plant pinto beans this year because I ran out of room in the garden, but I think I will be digging up some more grass to plant them now. I am not a gloom and doom type of person. I fully believe that we are safe in Gods care no matter what happens. Whether we end up home with him, or whatever. He will be with us, but I do think planning for the future as much as possible is needed. I have many thoughts running through my head now as far as what I want to do to improve our pantry and such.
Well, I must go now. I have a group of teenagers that should start showing up any time now. Have a blessed evening.

I wonder how many people bought the rice and beans at Costco without really knowing what to do with them once they got them home, you know? Sometimes rationing can have the opposite effect on people. If Costco and Sams Club hadn't put any restrictions on rice and beans, the shelves would probably still be full of them both.
Planning ahead is wonderful and wise, I believe, but as you said... the Lord will take care of us regardless. Prudence and temperance are probably good in the way we store and save for the future.
Thank you for writing such a good blog entry!!
God bless your garden~ Andrea
