Slow starting Monday

Today has been a slow starting monday, but things are getting done just the same. Mydear hubby made it home safe and sound (thank  you Lord) and brought 4 animals with him. Two antalope and 2 mule deer does. We have our work cut out for us in a few days, but what a blessing it is not to have to buy meat. I know that some people think that hunting is just as expensive a buying beef, but I think it is all in how you do it. You show me where I can buy a years worth of beef for 250.00 and I'll change my tune.  Anyway, Donald loves to be in the woods. It makes him sooo happy. I would never want to steal that from him.

Today is laundry day and house cleaning day along with school. Wesley has already started his school and the girls are finishing up the breakfast dishes.  I have load #2 in the washing machine now.

For lunch I am going to try a new recipe. Sarajean over at Hillside Gardens posted a recipe for cheezy brat stew. It sounded so yummy. I will serve it with leftover dinner rolls from hunting camp.

Well, the girls are ready to start school too, so I am off.

Have a blessed day.

After all the freezing weather and no water ,atleast he got some meat for his family. We live in the south and haven't been able to kill a deer yet. It has been to windy for hunting. I am with you on it is better and cheaper to kill your own meat for your family. You never know what you are buying at the store these days .That is a blessing that you will have your freezer full . And maybe you will get some fire wood chopped ,soon !!!! lol .

p.s. Is this your family in the buggy being pulled by the horse ? It is a beautiful picture .
