Carrots!!!

I harvested my carrots yesterday, so that I can can them. I was suprised at how much I ended up with. 45lbs of carrots! YEAH!

You can see the last of the green beans also.  We are starting to have frost, so I am laying the garden to rest for the winter.  We are going to add a load of top soil to the garden, then till it, then plant clover as a fertilizer in the spring when we till. Something new we are trying. Our ground is so full of clay here it is hard to work.  We have tried different things each year of the gardens life (this was the third year) and so far, we haven't found any results that I am happy with, so we will keep experimenting till we find a result that we are happy with. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them.

Wow..

Looks like you have a nice harvest of carrots. Yippee! I've never had a green thumb when it comes to gardening carrots, but looks like your thumb is really greeen! ha! Enjoy your canning.
Have a blessed day,
Tammy

Welcome back Jamie! I'm just now checking back in with my friends. The pics of your house and carrots are great (45# of carrots-Wow!). I also really like your new blog graphics. Thank you for the sweet story you left on my blog about the egg slicer. That really sounded like me and my mom too. Blessings, Kim
