Weeks end meanderings

The end of this week came fast. I actually got quite a bit accomplished. One thing that got done is a huge batch of chewy granola bars. YUM!!!

We love having these around for a quick snack. They can be a pretty healthy snack depending on what you choose to put in them. We tend to be naughty. These are peanut butter/chocolate chip. Here is the recipe if anyone is interested.
1C - Sucanat
2/3c - peanut butter
1/2c - honey
1/2c - butter
2tsp - vanilla
3c - quick oats
1/3c - wheat germ
1c - chocolate chips.
I mix a double batch of all that is listed here. I dump it into a greased jelly roll pan. Press it out till even in the pan. Bake it at 350 for 15 min. Take out and cool for about 10 min, then cut into bars. Leave in pan till completely cool. Then remove and wrap individually for a quick and easy snack!
My hubby gave Wesley (our 8y/o son) his first lesson on the bass guitar. Here are some pic's. Wesley was in heaven. We all sang a song as a family and had Wesley strum his first learned note to keep the rhythm and he did it the whole way through. Not a beat missed. Donald and I were amazed. We are excited to see how he progresses in this.
