This weekend is our county fair. The kids and I are looking forward to this time again. Wesley and Meghan will be entering a poster. Hadassa will too, if we can get it finished in time. All three kids will be baking for the fair too. Wesley will be making oatmeal peanutbutter cookies. Meghan will make chocolate lovers cream cheese pie. Hadassa will make spice cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.

I am hoping to enter quite a few things.

~ granola

~ huckleberry jam

~ beet jelly

~ strawberry jelly

~ oldfashioned fudge

~ banana bread

~ bread and butter pickles

~ dill pickles

~ chocolate chocolate chip pudding cookies ( I going for the peoples choice award with this one)

~ beet relish

~ bagles

That is what I am pretty sure I will enter. There are a few others that I may do, but I havent decided yet. This week will be busy getting ready. It should be fun.

Gardening season is coming to a close for us here. I have had a very enjoyable garden this year. For the first time in 4 years of gardening, I am going to have tomato's that actually ripened on the vine. I will get to can homemade tomato sauce from the tomato's in my garden!!! I am so excited about this.  THis is also the first year that I have canned something from the garden other than green beans, carrots or peas. The quantity that came with variety this year has been so exciting. I am mentally planning for next year.  But, I am truely looking forward to fall and winter, for I have a list of projects that I am thinking about tackling then. Oh, I love projects!

We are almost ready for school to start. I sat down with my trusty timberdoodle catalogue yesterday to see what is left that I need to order to be ready for the school year. Just a few more items that I will order next week, and we will be ready to go. I have a start date of September 15. That is when I am hoping to start. Most all of the canning should be done by then.

Well, I best be going for this evening. It was so nice to spend a few moments here to really share with you all. It seems like it has been so long since I have been able to do that. Hopefully, I will be able to keep up now.

Nice to hear from you! One day I will have my own garden to harvest in!
