D-R-A-G-G-I-N-G Today

Posted on Tuesday 28 March 2006 at 10:36 PM in A Little Bit Of Everything - Post Comment

Today was a s-l-o-w day. I wasn't with it. A bit of depression bogging me down. I heard clearly from the Lord today in various forms over and over that I need to focus more on Him and dwell less on the world. I don't have a desire to be in the Word right now, and I know that means I need it even more. I want to have that hunger. I pray for the Lord to help me.

No laundry got done, I did load the dishwasher. Didn't even make the bed. I even cut homeschooling short today. I just couldn't focus on what needed to be done.

Tomorrow is another day, I'm praying for a good nights sleep so I can wake up fresh tomorrow. Then together with the Lord we'll make it a great day. Right?

The Proverbs 31 Challenge - Day Two (http://www.31women.blogspot.com/)

1. Be awake for 3 sunrises (verse 15)
Not this morning. It was tough to get out of bed.

2. Prepare 2 fabulous meals for your family, roommates, or friends (verse 15)
Done. Chicken enchiladas from the left over cornish hens from last nigh. Tomorrow will be some sort of spaghetti dish. Ziti maybe?

3. Exercise vigorously for 30 minutes 3 times (verse 17, verse 25)
Didn't exercise.

4. Memorize 3 Scripture verses (verse 26)
Working on Psalm 23 this week, but I didn't do much today. I will be working on this before bed tonight.

5. Skip all desserts but 2 (except for Sunday--verse 17, verse 25)
I didn't make dessert tonight (I rarely do).

Psalm 121
A Song of Ascents.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?
My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.

He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The LORD is your keeper;
The LORD is your shade at your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.

The LORD shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.

I get that way some times too. Maybe an audio Bible from the library is in order? That way you can listen and let the words come to you ... I know sometimes, I'm so unfocused, I can't comprehend what I'm reading, and that just makes me feel worse - but with the tape (or cd), I often will hear something that strikes me, and I can go read up on it - with more of a sense of purpose, kwim? Just a thought. I'll be keeping you in my prayers though.
~hugs~

Thank you.

That is a really good idea! Thanks for the suggestion. I bought hubby the Bible on CD for his drives to work, I think I'll snag a couple to listen to at home. May the Lord richly bless you! Hugs...Ann'Re
