We are nearly finished planting our garden. We worked on it over the weekend when it wasn't raining...and even when it was.  lol  All that's left is to plant the tomatos and get everything staked. The lettuce is bolting already so I will be pulling that out and planting something else there. It's been wonderful having all those fresh salads. Oh to have ducks...or even chickens...to eat up all the icky unwanted critters in the garden like slugs. Unfortunately we can't have either where we live since we are right in town. Maybe oneday. So we had a slug party yesterday as Hubby, Boo and I went through the garden pulling out slugs and dropping them into salt water. Boo had a great time and asked if he could earn money doing that. lol Sure...I'll pay to have slugs removed from the garden.

Hubby and I put up fencing around our cucumbers and beans to keep the bunnies out. The poor beans have hardly broken through the soil and gotten their second set of leaves before the bunnies had a feast. Well...no more. The beans are safe...so far...from being chomped.

I increased the size of the garden three feet this year, I can see I'll be increasing it yet again next year. Since we live deep in the heart of Amish Indiana I see the beautiful Amish gardens beginning to bloom. So much inspiration. Their gardens...and their yards are just lovely. Maybe I'll take the camera next time I'm out shopping.
