Clueless Mothers

Posted on Tuesday 10 April 2007 at 10:54 AM in A Little Bit Of Everything - Post Comment

This was and is SO me.  I've had nobody to mentor me in being a Biblical wife and mom.  Not from my own mom, and not from the Church.  Most of what I've learned was from my own Bible reading, research, and trial and error.  Truthfully, this is so wrong!  Don't get me wrong, there are many wonderful Biblical women in the churches I've been to, but there are hardly any Titus 2 women...gently teaching and mentoring the younger women to do the same.   And the younger women...we have to be open to receive their teaching and mentoring.   I'm in such need of it.

I thought this post on BaylyBlog was right on the nose (hat tip to Ladies Against Feminism):

Cool dudes or a pregnant mother of four: evangelicals, take your pick...

Titus 2:1-5
But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things— that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
