Crafts for Boys - Site Reviews

I love doing crafts. It's one of my favorite hobbies. I also love doing crafts with Boo. But when I go to the big mega stores most of the crafts they have are too girly for my 6 year old boy...which is sad for me because I love girly crafts. *sigh* Anyway...I decided to search for some ideas for boy crafts (good for girls also) for our upcoming school year and here are a few sites I found:
Yes Mag - The Science Magazine for Adventurous Minds http://www.yesmag.bc.ca/projects/projects.html Interesting site, I've got that site bookmarked so I can come back to it and check it out for homeschooling. It's definately not a Christian site, but most of the projects look like fun.I'm definately looking forward to making the Geodesic Clubhouse. Not as "crafty" as I was looking for though.
Paper Airplane Designs http://www.paperairplanes.co.uk/planes.php My son is just getting into paper airplanes. There are easy, intermediate and hard designs to challenge boys of all ages (which includes hubby!) The links look like they will lead you to other sites with more paper airplane designs and info.
About.com - Family Crafts: Paper Mache http://familycrafts.about.com/od/papermache/ Getting icky and sticky is right up my boys alley. I think we might just try making replicas of all the planets out of paper mache (now that there is only 8)...or a volcano...or animals...or...
Oriental Trading http://www.orientaltrading.com/ This site is good for getting ideas to put together your own crafts or you can get the pre-made craft kits from them (as well as all sorts of party supplies!). This is a good place to get crafts with a religeous theme. One drawback is most craft kits contain multiples of each craft so you can't buy just one. This works great if you have several kids, but if you have just one like me you might consider getting together with other homeschoolers in buying craft kits...which are fairly inexpensive...or give them away say to a local shelter, day care or church.
Lastly, Michaels and Home Depot offer craft project workshops for kids on Saturdays. I believe there are small costs involved at Michaels. Contact your local store to find out when they are and what crafts they will be doing.
And I'm always open to ideas on creative things to do with my boy if you have some to share.
