2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. At 7:00 am on Wednesday, September 21st, thousands of school kids across the country and throughout the world will meet outside their schools at the flag pole. For what you ask? To pray. Just simply to pray. They will pray for their school, for their friends, teachers, government, and nation. September 21st is the day for See You At The Pole, a student lead time of prayer that was inspired by a group of Texas students in 1990. More than 56,000 students on 1,200 campuses in Texas and three other states were documented at the first See You at the Pole in September of that year. The movement continued to grow nationally and internationally from 1991 on. Even homeschoolers can participate. It's not too late to organize your homeschool group to meet at your city or county building to pray there at a flag pole. We will be going to our county building to pray. Even if we are the only ones, we will be there. My son is excited. It will be his first See You At The Pole. I hope to have pictures for you after it is over. I think this from the See You At The Pole website (http://www.syatp.com) says it all: At an elementary school near Boston, Massachusetts, a little girl was at her flagpole all by herself. After some time, her principal went out to where she was and asked her, "What are you doing?" She replied, "I’m here for ‘Meet me at the pole.’" "But there’s no one else here." "Oh, no," she protested, "I’m here to meet God." Hopefully we'll see you at the pole too! Here are some of my favorite Bible verses about prayer: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Ephesians 6:17-18 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints Psalm 141:1-2 LORD, I cry out to You;Make haste to me! Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You.Let my prayer be set before You as incense,The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Colossians 4:2-4 Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
