Stress Cookies

This is a recipe that was given to me in a cookbook that was a wedding gift soon to be 12 years ago.

Stress Cookies

3 cups sugar
3 cups butter
6 cups oatmeal
1 tbsp baking soda
3 cups flour

The idea for these was to make them when you needed to get rid of all your aggressions...so here it goes..

Put all the ingredients in a huge bowl and mash, knead, squeeze.  Just do what will rid you of your stress (of course they make a mess when you throw it on the wall.).  When you are ready, form into small balls (smaller than English Walnuts) another way to keep your hands busy.  Place these on an ungreased cookie sheet.  Butter the bottom of a glass  and dip it in sugar, and mash the balls flat.  You will only need to butter the glass once or twice but sugar it for each cookie.  Bake at 350F for 10-12 minutes.  Sure are good and hopefully you will feel better!
