HOT & MUGGY & HOT & MUGGY
I don't mind the heat, it's when it is mixed with a serious dose of muggy that it becomes bothersome. We don't have air conditioning, but we do have fans. This is one of those times of year that I often regret not having air conditioning. Today with the heat index it's going to feel like a nice muggy 105F.
We live in an area that has a very large Amish population and as we try and keep cool here I wondered what they do to keep cool. They can't just plug in a fan or turn on the air conditioning. Anyone know?
Well, I'm working hard to keep our home cooled as naturally as possibible without using too much electricity. Right now I have windows closed and shades/curtains drawn to keep the cool in for as long as possible. When it starts getting a little warm I'll be opening a couple windows to let a cross breeze come through (if there is a breeze ). And we will be cooking and eating dinner outside this evening since it's usually cooler outside at that time of day than it is inside my house.
I'm off to get a couple loads of laundry hung outside and give the garden a watering. I want to hurry up and get that done before it gets too hot outside. Drink lots of water and stay cool!
