Our Weekend
We had a lovely but busy weekend, even though some things we did just didn't work out the way we hoped.
Saturday we left to go up to Michigan to pick up my cousins son. He will be spending some time with us during his summer vacation. While we were there, my aunt had a bbq and we had a great visit. We left to go back home a little later than we wanted to, but it was a nice drive none the less. While on the road we saw the #40 NASCAR being trucked to the race track. We are big race fans so it was a big deal for us. Not sure if this was the real car or a back up though. I would have thought that they would have already had the cars at MIS and not bringing them in Saturday night for the race. Who knows. 
Sunday we had church and both boys went to the children's church. They had a great time. From there we left to go to the baseball game we had tickets for. We had great seats and the boys both had their baseball gloves waiting for those foul balls to fly their way. Unfortunately during the first inning it began to sprinkle. Then it started to rain. Then it just poured. And it didn't stop. They cancelled the game and rescheduled it for July. So much for Hubby's Father's Day gift. We were all dissappointed. But we did get to listen to the NASCAR race on the radio as we were driving home. That was rain delayed and just started as we were leaving the ball park.
The rain kept us from having the shrimp on the BBQ, so we settled for the shrimp with coctail sauce and baked potatoes along with a side salad. Surprisingly both boys asked for seconds on salad. I was able to put in fresh spinach from the garden as well as having chives for the baked potatoes. YUM.
I also got hubby a Jon Gibson CD (Soulful Hymns) that I though he would enjoy. Jon Gibson is one of his favorite singers so I know that it will be well played.
I do have some pictures from this weekend, so hopefully when I get some time I'll get them posted.
