Update...Sorry for the absence...
I've been feeling overwhelmed and lonely as of late and battling a bit of depression. I honestly think it's more of a spiritual issue than anything else. Please pray for me and my family and I work this out.
Hubby and I discussed last night about visiting a different church this coming Sunday. While I love the church we are currently attending, this other church seems to align more with what we believe the Bible says. Maybe another day I'll go more into detail about those. In the mean time, I'm looking forward to checking this other church out and looking toward the Lord for guidance on this issue.
Homeschooling is going ok. I should probably be doing more, but we are covering the basics each day. While the public school kids are already out of school for the summer, we school year round so we're still plugging along. We are going to a summer schedule though where we will only be schooling three days a week. The public schools start back up again August 16th, we'll be starting a two week break about that time and starting 2nd grade after Labor Day. We (hubby, Boo and myself) went to the local homeschool convention and after looking everything over I still feel that A Beka is the best choice for Boo's academics this fall. I seem to second guess myself a lot about the curriculum choices I make, so it was a nice feeling. I am also sticking with Bob Jones for Bible. The only thing that I'm adding now is Switched On Schoolhouse for elementary Spanish. I've heard good things about it and I'm looking forward to Boo learning Spanish.
I wish I could say that the garden is coming along nicely, but honestly I haven't been spending much time in it. All the tomatoes I planted back in mid May were lost to a late frost. I found it funny that the only tomato plant to survive was the one Boo picked out and planted.  This coming weekend I will be replanting tomatoes and planting everything else that I want to grow (cukes, beans, peppers etc.)
Dinner tonight is a small lamb roast that is in the crock pot, rice and salad. Hubby loves lamb, so I enjoy making it for him.

I am in your same boat with finding a church. And I am doing year around school also. I feel sometimes I am the only one that does that. Well, at least in my little circle of firends here, I am. I will be praying for you and your family.

I just wanted to stop by and say Hello. We didn't get our garden going the way we wanted to this year either, but have been pleasantly surprised by so many things returning from seeds. Now if we can just manage to keep the weeds from choking them out!
