Goat Farm Field Trip
Yesterday we went on a homeschool field trip to a local goat farm. I was SOOO excited because this is my dream. Hubby was able to take the day off of work and go along with us. It was such a great time! I've always wanted to raise and breed goats. Now I think hubby wants to also. Wheeee! This goat farm is a dairy farm and they milk around 300 goats twice a day. I think they said they had around 500 or 600 head altogether. Not sure I want to have such a big operation, but I definately want a bunch of goats. They milk 6 different breeds of dairy goats and their milk is used commercially for making cheese. She also makes goats milk soap which I just had to get and try.

The "parlor" where they milk the goats.

The tank where they store the milk.

Our homeschool group.

Ok, this isn't a goat.

They fill this bucket with goats milk to feed the kids (baby goats).
