What a lovely weekend!

Hubby had Friday off so it was a long weekend for us. The weather was great and we spend most of our time outside...even when it sprinkled.

We got a lot of yard work done over the weekend. Hubby fertilized the grass and he and Boo got it mowed. Yes, Hubby is teaching Boo to mow the law. I wish I would have taken pictures. I myself was pruning the bushes and trees in the front yard. They really needed it. A couple of them look kinda funny now, but they will fill in eventually. I had 4 barberry bushes, and with hubby's help we now only have two. No matter how pretty they are, they are too picky for my taste. Now I have to fill in those spots and I'd like to put in some low maintenance, flowering perennials, but I'm not sure what type would be good. The ground is pretty rocky and since our house faces west they would have to do well in partial sun. I really don't want to wait If you have suggestions, I'd love to hear them. I really wanted daisies, but there is not enough sun.

The spinach seeds are coming up in the garden. I have more spinach that I want to plant along with onions and broccoli. I didn't get a chance to get them in over the weekend so I'm hoping to get a chance to get them in today or tomorrow.

Boo had a hard day on Sunday, he was helping hubby in the yard when he triped and landed face first in our wood pile. He got scratched up a bit and ended up with a black eye, but he was fine. Later as he was coming in the house to get something for hubby the wind pushed the door behind him and caught his finger. Ouch, poor little guy. A couple bandaids, two pudding cups and lots of cuddles and he felt better...even though he grumbled about having a bad day.

Dinner on Sunday went well. I miss sharing holidays with family though. I made a lamb roast with mashed potatoes, veggies, salad. I set the table with my antique china and it looked so nice. I should really use my china more often. I made angel food cake for dessert. I admit, it was from a box. I do have a great angel food cake recipe, but I'll have to look for it. I'll post it as soon as I find it.

I pray that you also had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday, and that the Lord will live brightly in your heart each day as we await His triuphant return.

John 11:25-26
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"

I think it is lovely that you set the table, which was beautiful, for your family.
