Illegal Immigration
What a hot button topic. There was a demonstration of about 5,000 people about an hour away from here. If I understand it correctly, they are demonstrating to let these people who came here illegally from Mexico stay here legally.
What if I decided to pack my family up and go down the road to that big, beautiful farm house, sneak in and set up home in one of their spare bedrooms and then demand to stay. We should be allowed to stay, ya know, it is so much nicer that what we have right now. We are really great people, we work hard, we even go to church. Hey, we would even offer to help pay some of the bills so it's not like we would be staying for free. I could justify it every which way, but it still doesn't make it right.
I'm not anti-immigration...my grandparents were from Lithuania, Poland and Canada and all legally came to the US. My husbands grandparents came legally from Italy. I'm not anti-hispanic...I have many wonderful hispanic friends. I live in an area that has lots of wonderful hispanic people.
But at what point do we say the law is the law? If we don't uphold them, why should we have any laws? If I break the law, I don't expect to get rewarded for it. I am against rewarding people, even good people for doing something wrong. What a difficult situation. I pray that something good comes out of this.

I have to agree with you- what good is the law if we don't uphold it. You made some very valid points.
Wrong is still wrong- even if everybody is doing it!

Illegal aliens. Keyword here is 'illegal". IF we had 5,000 pot heads protest that they want to be able to smoke the dope in their pockets leagally, the police would rope the area off, and arrest everyone with dope on him.
So tell me, why isn't immigration down at these ridiculious rallies, checking green cards, and rounding up the illegals?
I love the USA.........but she is turning into a spineless whimp. We will be our own demise. Too many leaders are weak, and waiver under peer pressure. We don't have enough 'real men' in power anymore.
Laws are Laws. Don't waste my tax dollars creating laws that you do not intend on enforcing. AND if you don't intend on enforcing the laws on the books, I would like a refund!!!
