LIGHTENING

07:58, Friday, April 4, 2008 .. 0 comments .. Link

Today was such a nice day.  I started it out in my yellow recliner with none other than my heavenly Father.  Right now I am reading a book called "You've Already Got It".  It talks about what was done at the cross and what has already been completed by Jesus. It is a very eye opening look at the scriptures and what the Word says we already have in our Spirit man.  I am taking it in slow, because so much of it is scriptures I have read many times but have struggled with completely comprehending.  While I am going through it I am praying Paul's prayer for myself that the eyes of my understanding would be enlightened.  As I really get a grasp on any of it then I will share with you guys.

I got  a picture this morning when reading over and meditating on Ephesians 1 that I want to share.  Note the parts I put in bold type and the words I highlighted in red.  This is where something clicked for me this morning.

15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding[c] being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

What jumped out at me in that verse (those of you who already get it will just have to have grace on me for being a tad slower  ) was the words "in" and "toward us" in reference to His power.  As I read that I saw a lightening bolt in my mind.  I got the idea of the power of God in us (Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. connecting with the Power that our heavenly Father directs "toward us".  I am feeling as inadequate at getting this accross in my blog as I was this morning to my CHG.  You kno, take a lamp.  It has no power of it's own, but you put a bulb in it (like a new spirit in us), but still on its own it is not powerful.  BUT, just you hook it up to a power source and see what comes out of that bulb!!!!!  Whoa.. there is a power in us that is not our own and there is even more power to release it that comes from God the power source.  Or you could say, Father God - the life giver!   ........ So that was my morning with the Father.

Then I went to coffee house to see my girlfriends and to pray and share what the Lord has done this week.

In HIS grace and POWER, Angie
