Slow but Steady

There is not much to say today.  It was a cleaning day here at the Rugh's Zoo (that is what I loving call my home of 5 messy Rughs...myself included!).   I did not make it to the Y to work out today but I had another successful day of choosing to eat well.  I wanted cookies, but I decided not to have them because I want to see some pounds shed.  I weighed and measured today.  Boy is it going slow!  UUGHH!  I am a little suprised that I am not more frustrated that the scales did not move.  But I know I ate well and exercised, so I am attributing it to the muscle I have been building.  I did see that my waist measurements are going down/in.  Halelujah!  I will just hold to Proverbs 3:5-6 "Lean not unto thy own understanding, but in all thy ways acknowledge HIM and He will direct your paths."

Keep my brother in your prayers still.  They moved him to the Greenville Memorial Hospital Sat.  Then today from 8am till around 3pm they operated on his leg.  They did a skin graft of about 10'' x 2-3".  Plus they tried to get a lot of the shattered bone pieces out form behind the knee.  Last they put metal plates on each side of the knee and ran a rod through it.  Mom says he was screaming and crying when he came back to the room.  They had a hard time getting the pain under control and he was hallucinating from the pain (thinking he was falling and saying they did it all backwards). The nurse said the main pain is probably from the graft, that that is the worse kind of pain they deal with there.  He still has not had the last of the surgeries, but in the doctors words, "We did the best we could with what we have there." Mom says he has screws and poles everywhere.  It sounds to me a lot like the cage thing they had on the man in a book I read awhile back.  Did any of you ever read that book, 90 Minutes in Heaven?  That is what I am thinking of when MOM describes the traction cage on his leg.  So continue praying. Thanks!

Well tomorrow my oldest will be 14 years old.  I can hardly believe it but it's so.  And my hubby and I will be married for 17 years this Sunday.  Time is sure ticking by.
