• 2006-Mar-24 - Rethinking what I can do

It's been quite a while since I wrote an entry.  Reason being, I'm still dealing with health issues.  I won't get into great detail but ended up in the emergency room where I was diagnosed with Diverticulitis which is an infection in the intestine.  That put me out of commission for quite a while then they are readjusting my thyroid meds again!  I've had some down days, but I know the Lord is by my side and I'm just trying to be calm and peaceful about all this.

In the interim, I've reconsided all these great plans I had for this Spring and Summer.  I don't know that I will be able to handle a garden or have chickens yet.  I would love to, but I don't want to put any more on my family than they have to do right now, and since the garden and chickens would be my "babies", it would be really unfair to do it and then find I don't have the stamina for it all.  I was pretty sad at first, but I'm just going to plant a few flowers and do what I can do.

We've had really wierd weather.  We had a lot of snow which is unusual for this time of year.  We really needed the moisture, though, so it was a blessing!  Cleaning the doggie's feet isn't that fun after they get in the mud, but it was only for a couple of days this year.  Last year we had so much rain and snow, we were cleaning dog feet all the time!  Bleah!

Off to bed.  I'm really tired, but wanted to put an update here.  Take care and God Bless!!

This is my first visit to your site. I understand how hard it can be when your health won't keep up with your will to do things. I have a similar problem. But God is always by my side and I believe I will be healed. Try planting a tomato bush in a big pot close to your back door. That way you can at least have fresh tomatoes! peppers also do well in pots. I have even planted squash and cukes in pots before. I always have a lot of herbs in pots. I am fortunate this year, I have been able to get my garden going real well. My husband and sister help me when I have bad days and cannot do what I need to. ^..^
