• 2007-Jan-1 - A New Year

Happy New Year!  I'm up at the crack of dawn because I couldn't sleep.  I was asleep, mind you, but there were coyotes outside and our dogs saw them and started barking like mad.  They sleep in our bedroom, so it woke me up.  I layed there for a long time before finally getting up and coming to the computer.  I'm starting to get tired so will go back to bed after this post.
We had a lovely Christmas!  It was probably one of our best.  We had my in-laws over for Christmas eve day.  My hubby made one of his famous hoagie sandwiches and we made dips, a relish tray, veggie tray, and I bought an Egg Nog Cake from Costco.  It was so nice because I didn't have the bulk of the work to do and we enjoyed the relaxing time with our family.  Christmas day, I made homemade pizza and salad.  Not real traditional, but we wanted something different.  Everyone really enjoyed the pizza as I haven't made it for a while.  I made 5 huge pizzas!  We then went our seperate ways and enjoyed our gifts.  My children watched their DVD and I went and watched my new DVD and hubby enjoyed his bible study on the computer. I am so thankful for such a lovely Christmas!  Most of all, I was thankful that my family was together for Christmas!  With hubby's cancer scare in November, we are so thankful that he is with us!
I'm working on counted cross stitch projects right now and enjoying every minute of it.  I find it very relaxing and I look forward to my evenings of stitching.  I am working on my 15 year old son's birth announcement!    When I was pregnant with my 17 year old, I made a beautiful counted cross stitch announcement, but then I couldn't find one I liked for my second son.  It was only recently that I found one that could compare and now I'm getting it done.  I'm also working on an afghan that has counted cross stitch in the squares.  It's from the latest Stoney Creek magazine.  I've had the afghan fabric for years, but when I saw the butterfly afghan, I knew it would be great.  It will be good to switch back and forth between the two projects.  The only thing I'm realizing is my eyes aren't what they used to be and I think I'm going to have to get a maganifer for working on my small stitching!  Oh, the joys of getting older!
I hope you have a wonderful and blessed New Year!!
