My friend directed me to this blog site through her site. This is very cool! We live on 10 acres in Northern Arizona. We have had chickens and geese in the past and will again after modifying our chicken pen to be hawk proof. The hawks claimed all our chickens about a year and a half ago and I haven't had the heart or the energy to get them again. The poor geese were claimed by coyotes! Sometimes it's hard to live on a "homestead" with animals that are low on the food chain! LOL Anyway, my dream is to have a huge garden this coming year and to get chickens and geese again. I also dream of having a pond. The hole has been dug for quite a few years, but we've never done anything with it. I'm hoping this is the year that we get it going. I've been sick for quite a long time (you can read about this at my other blog here, if you're so inclined) and am so excited about starting the New Year doing things I've been unable to do for so long.
I'm excited to learn about your "homestead" and all the great ideas I know I'll glean here. |
