Hubby's surgery went really well! He didn't have any problems during the surgery and they believe they got all the cancer. The prostate was sent to the pathologist and we won't know the verdict until probably next Monday, but the surgeon was very happy with how things went. The only scary part of the whole thing was after his surgery, his blood pressure sky-rocketed and he was put into Intensive Care for 2 days. He is in his own room now and seems to be doing good. We think he will be allowed to come home today, but he has to have clearance from both the surgeon and the hospital MD. He has had some chest pains since the surgery so the hospital MD may decide to keep him.
I was so exhausted for two days - the day of the surgery and the day after - but yesterday I allowed myself to sleep as long as I needed and I now feel back to my old self. I got up early this morning and cleaned house, did laundry and am now making my two wonderful sons a big breakfast - hash browns, sausage, eggs and toast! They will love it! I very rarely make a breakfast like this as I think it's just not that good for them, but I thought I would today. They have been so helpful and so supportive of their Dad and I during all this. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful sons!!
I took my dogs out this morning and all the trees have almost lost all their leaves. Winter is truly here. There were so many mourning doves lined up on the fence and in the trees huddled together for warmth. It's so good to be home and I look out at God's creation and see how many blessings He has given me and I'm just in awe. Praise you, Lord, for who you are!! |
