• 2006-Jan-13 - Gorgeous Day!

We had the most gorgeous day here today!  It was so warm we were able to open the windows to let fresh air into our home.  It was wonderful!  We also took a trip over the mountain into the next town.  Hubby had business over there and I hadn't been there since last Spring, so it was a nice day trip.  Things are really booming over there and I was surprised by all the new businesses.  I remember when we were looking to buy in this area, we looked at a little farm by the river over there.  It was so wonderful!  I'm not sure, to this day, why we didn't move there.  In any case, it's still there, but has lots of buildings around it!  I wonder how long it will stay there before it's snatched up and a bunch of houses are built on that gorgeous land.

We stopped at the Goodwill over there.  It used to be one of my favorite haunts, but I was literally shocked senseless at the horendous prices on everything!  Hubby found a pair of shoes he liked and they were $12.99!!  He thought maybe it was that one pair, but they were all that price!  Geesh!  I guess I won't bother going there anymore in the future.

I'm so anxious to work in my yard again.  I do need to get some soil samples of the area where I want to grow my garden.  I'm not sure how to go about that.  Any ideas anyone?  We had blister beetles on the trees in that area and had to use insecticide to get rid of them, which I never like to do, but they were stripping our trees over night and  we had to act quickly!  I am not sure if the insecticide contaminated the soil in that area or not, and don't want to take any chances.  If it's not good, I'll be building a fenced in area elsewhere for the garden.  I dread that since this area is so perfectly fenced with chicken wire on the bottom portion and into the ground to keep the bunnies out.  It's been about 3 years since that happened, so I'm not sure if it would still be a problem or not, so want to just be safe and check the soil.

Tired and off to bed.  Hope tomorrow is a gorgeous day again!

I just saw your comment and was so happy to see it. :) I will type more later, but just by skimming through your blog entries I saw that you are a bird watcher, right? Well, hence my name "Robin" I LOVE birds. We did a lot with that last Spring and Summer and my love for photography was heightened as I found, that after 39 years (LOL), I might have a gift in something else besides my natural knack for cleaning.

Well, more later, I am going to type up a blog entry. I just spent the past two hours redecoreating my blog. :)

Talk to you more soon... ~Robin

I am going to start posting my photographs a little bit at a time on my blog. I have a lot of the birds. I can't wait to get some of cardinals, etc. in snow! :)

Edited to say that I was just reading through a bunch of your blog entries to get to know you better. :) The one thing that I could not figure out is how old your boys are. My girls are Beka (just turned 8) and Emma (will be 10 on Thursday). I also have two boys who live with my ex husband, who are 13 and 15 years old. :)

I look forward to getting to know you better! ~Robin
