COOK AT HOME!
Yes you read it right. Cook at home.
- Invest the money you would spend in one trip to a restaurant on a good cook book. (examples to follow)
- Make it your goal to try a new recipe a week.
- Write down a list of your husband and your favorite meals. Cook them.
- Look on the internet for recipes, print them out and try them.
- Borrow cook books for the library or friends.
- Get a nice recipe holder and cards, use them.
- Make a menu for the week each Monday morning.
Some of my favorite cook books:
- Not Just Beans from Tawra Jean Kellam
- Martha's Family Cookery from Martha Greene
- The Amish Cook from Elizabeth Coblentz
- Countryside Cooking and Chatting from Lucy Leid

We have slowly been weaned off restaurant food. first it was fast food (easy enough to give up...) and then the good fast food (not greasy but still quick, like quiznos and fazolis). now eating at some place like Chilis or Applebees is starting to upset our stomachs! of course, if I want a good steak, or yummy appitizers (I LOVE buffalo wings!), we will still go out, but not very often!

We have recently made a rule of no eating out in our family. I don't have of the cookbooks you have mentioned, but I do have plenty! LOL And I love getting recipes from friend here on HSB!!!
Glad to have you here. Hope you enjoy blogging and reading at HSB.
God's Blessings,
Amy Jo
