the shore road

Mr. mac and I went for a ride up the seaside today. Hurricane/tropical storm Kyle is heading towards down east Maine. We didn't get up quite that far. this is a picture of one of the most photographed lighthouses in the country. It's called Nubble light and is in York, Maine. We got up as far as Kennebunkport and then hunger turned us back towards home.

We stopped at the Maine Diner and had lunch. We both got the seafood platter...which explains why there is no dinner being made this evening...I really wanted to get a piece of home made blueberry pie but there was no way I would have been able to eat it.

Blueberry pie will have to be saved for another trip.

The surfers were out like crazy. At one point we must have seen at least 100 of them. Here in New England we don't get to many great surfing days so they come out in force when the surf is up.

When I first saw them, I thought they were birds.

We drove by Walker point but the fog was so thick we couldn't even be sure we were in the right place. There was no way we could even see the Bush's house out there.

I feel so rejuvinated after a visit to the ocean. The wind wasn't nearly as bad as we thought it would be. But, of course, the big weather was further up the coast.

Tomorrow is another early work day and then perhaps a walk through the woods.

I could not see the pictures. It could be my connection though. I love walking too but walking on the beach wow........ My older daughter and son, and I about a zillion years ago drove up to Maine. We had wanted to go all the way up to the end but ran out of time. We loved it. We saw the Portland lighthouse then, stopped at a McDonalds for lobster sandwiches, also a real restaurant for them, saw a lot of things. Blessings.
