One less kid :-(

We found a dead buckling yesterday morning.  Apparently they all piled inside a manger and he was at the bottom and suffocated.  What a shame, he was such a nice light blue color.

Yesterday my husband worked on the manger, adding sides and a roof to prevent this to happen again.  But what else will they come up with?  We've been keeping goats for 7 years and it never happened.

Live and learn...

I am sorry to hear of the loss. We never had troubles like that either, but I had a friend once who places a large round bale in their goat pasture and the goats nibbled right through the center...then it collapsed on 2 of their does as they were inside there eating.
Animals can do strange things sometimes I think. It is sad.

Still, you have had a wonderful increase it sounds! It is always heartening to see a homestead for the Lord grow and prosper :o)

That is very sad and I'm sorry for the loss.
We have many goats that will be kidding, anyday now. I am very excited thinking of all the wonderful milk we will be getting.Plus the children love playing with the new kids.
I have never seen a blue goat before.

I just found your blog via your husband's. I am really enjoying both. I'm adding you to my friends list.

Have a joyful Sunday...

Oh, I am so sorry. It is so hard when you loose one. What a shame. The Lord will show you if you need to change anything. Like you said you have been doing this for some time. You all probably already know what to do.

I love reading your blog.
Have a good day in the Lord.

The Lord's blessings,
Kris M.
