We now have quite the couple - Red Sox and Lindsay (rooster and hen).  We built them a fancy new chicken condo.  Now we just sit back and wait for those cute liitle chicks, right?  We have done some reading and realize it may not be quite that easy.  Time will tell.

First of all, one rooster, one hen is not a good ratio ... he will wear the poor little gal out. He needs several hens - 15 to 20 is not too many. Roosters are (excuse the language) randy ... and will 'service' a hen several times a day ... he sees her, he thinks "hmmmmm" and chases her (and usually catches her).

He will wear one hen out. Get more!!!
