Chicken Sitting

I got to do some chicken sitting this past weekend for some friends.  It was great experience for me to be able to be around them to see how much work it is to raise chickens, since I think I want some!  So after caring for them for three days - I still want some.  They are pretty entertaining - theirs are free range and just wander all over the yard.  They have a nice, large, insulated coop where they are safe at night.  I'm afraid mine would need a fenced in area because of the bears around here.  So I'm looking at chicken coop plans and getting ideas.  I found this one online and it looks like a good design, but I think having the nest boxes outside of the building would make them hard to insulate...  http://www.buildeazy.com/chicken_coop_1.html  I would like to be able to use some of the materials I have onhand instead of buying everything new.  I have a little building that I used to use for bake sales - it is about 4' by 8' - so I think I'll try to use it, just expand it a bit...  we will see.  So many projects, so little time....  Hey brother John, when are you and Iris coming to visit?  Wanna help me build a coop??
