i recently read Dave Ramsey's book Total money makeover and God really used that book to convict me of my "sin" of over spending. Being here in Africa for 2 years also weaned me from my shopping habits. When we go back we hope to be cash only for everything!! No cash ... no buy!!! So keep up the good work, it can be painful but it will be worth it in the end...

Good for you!!
I am assuming you closed the account and cut up the card? When my dh and I were kids, we just "put the card away" and left the account open..........bad idea.We dug ourselves back into debt about 2 years later. Derrr!!!

It's a great feeling, isn't it? We love the "debt free" approach and are working our way towards it also. We've paid off 1 personal loan, 1 credit card and got rid of Directv. We only have one small credit card and the vehicle. Then we'll pretty much be debt free (only student loan after that!!). Cash is king and it's really the only way to go! Keep it up!
