Once a Month Grocery Shopping

We are trying something new this month - I went grocery shopping yesterday and won't be going for the rest of the month.  Our goals in doing this are to save some money, use some of our pantry stock, and keep track of exactly what and how much we consume in a month.  Here is my list - spent about $115 total.  Our normal budget for a month is $200.

20 lbs. organic potatoes $10.00
4 dozen organic eggs $4.00
10 lbs. organic white wheat flour $8.32
2 lbs. Tillamook cheddar $4.99
4 half gallons milk - Darigold (no hormones, no antibiotics) $10.60
2 jars organic peanut butter $5.99
chicken base $2.95
3 lbs. sour cream (no hormones) $4.45
6 lbs. honey $8.49
1 gallon milk (no hormones) $1.97
12 quarts soy milk $12.69
10 lbs. organic white flour $7.18

I think that's great! I see you didn't purchase any meat - do you already have a freezer full or vegetarian?

Did you inventory your cupboards and freezer first? I just did mine and now I am thinking maybe I can do something similar to your list!

Hello!

How are you budgeting paper goods, laundry det. ect.. I also didn't see much fruit or veg. Do you have alot put back from last month or do have some canned from summer?

I would love to try to go once a month keep us posted on how it goes:)
