More Snow (with pictures)!

Luckily we didn't get quite as much snow Monday night as they were calling for, but it just keeps coming!  Rod did arrive home safely late Tuesday afternoon.  It cleared up yesterday around noon and flights were making it in and out.  When I woke up this morning, it had dumped about 6 more inches and was still snowing!  It's beautiful until you have to shovel  .  Not sure exactly how much has come down - Rod measured 28" on the roof, but things have been blowing around so much.  Schools were closed Tuesday and Wednesday - only the second time in the last 10 years!  This weather sure isn't normal for us this early.  We usually have a few weeks of cold and real snowy weather in January.  Normally it will snow a bit and then melt off, then repeat.  The ski slopes will be open this weekend - the earliest they have ever opened.  Too bad I'm not a skiier.

Our furnace wasn't coming on this morning - oh great!  Well, we just had oil delivered yesterday, so maybe it stirred up some contaminants?  We figured out that the snow on the roof was blocking the air intake, so the furnace had shut itself off.  Rod got a big ladder and shovelled the roof.  Then we hit the reset button and voila we had heat!  Yeah!  It will be so nice when we get ourselves a woodstove though...

Here is Clover in one of the trails we dug out:

Another view from the front door - can you see our skiff under all that white stuff?

And, finally, the camper, new shed and vegetable garden - you can see the lettuce that had bolted sticking up still on this side of the shed...  I wonder if my carrots are okay under there.
